The affordable premium phablet can now be purchased by consumers across the globe via eBay, priced at USD $299.99 (£199.99 and €276.99 for the United Kingdom and Europe respectively).

TOKYO, April 6, 2015 -- (BUSINESS WIRE/ME NewsWire) -- Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO:6502) today announced the opening of the Toshiba Group Hydrogen Energy Research & Development Center (HRDC) at its Fuchu Complex in western Tokyo. The new Center will concentrate Group-wide initiatives to realize a hydrogen economy, and will drive forward the development and demonstration of solutions integrating hydrogen-related energy technologies. Toshiba Group aims to increase the sales of hydrogen-related business to 100 billion yen by 2020.

Toshiba Group has essential technologies, including photovoltaic, wind, hydro and other renewable generation systems, water electrolysis systems and fuel cells, for achieving a hydrogen economy, a future where hydrogen is utilized as a low carbon clean fuel source. Toshiba Group will integrate these technologies in end-to-end solutions, extending from production to utilization of hydrogen.

Working towards the realization of local energy production for local consumption, Toshiba Group will develop a practical energy supply system that uses renewable energy to power hydrogen-generating water electrolysis systems, and then uses fuel cells to convert that hydrogen to electricity as and when needed. The system will be deployed in locations where electricity generation and transmission costs are high, such as isolated islands and remote places, so as to help cut costs and achieve a stable electricity supply.

Looking to the future, Toshiba Group also aims to establish a hydrogen supply chain by 2025. For example, hydrogen produced overseas at low cost, using large-scale windmills, will be used to generate electricity in hydrogen-fired gas turbine power plants in Japan. This will allow large amounts of hydrogen, a source of carbon-free clean electricity, to be stored and supplied without any need for a transmission line to connect the overseas power generation source, and Japan, the power consumption point.

Output from solar and wind power sources is unreliable, but it can be used to power water electrolysis systems that produce hydrogen, and that hydrogen can be transported and stored for use when needed. In addition to other applications, hydrogen is expected to be used as the fuel to for fuel cells, which can produce power and water in the event of a disaster.

The combined annual market scale for fuel cells and other hydrogen-related equipment and infrastructure is projected to reach 40 trillion yen by 2030.

The HRDC will install a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) being developed as a New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization project and use it in combination with solar photovoltaic generation systems, fuel cells and other apparatus to carry out demonstration experiments, toward achieving practical use. The center will also be an exhibition space for hydrogen-related technologies, in order to better understand customer needs.

Toshiba Group will draw on its wide-ranging technologies to promote a hydrogen business that helps to realize a low-carbon hydrogen economy.

HackaMENA gathered over 70 attendees who flew in from Algeria, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The participants formed teams for the 72 hour competition, during which they created innovative solutions that will have a positive impact on society and bring about real social change. Over the course of the weekend competitors also heard first-hand from industry experts and mentors, including PwC, International SOS, ITWORX, ITWORX Education, Dubai SME, Adobe, Dubai Consultancy and Yahoo!, about vital business and tech skills related to coding, design and prototyping.

The winning team HeartPing, an emergency mobile application connecting heart-patients with CPR-educated users, will showcase their product at the EXPO 2015 in Milan to an international audience and to investors. HeartPing will be incubated at in5, where they will be offered training, networking opportunities and mentorship to prepare for the EXPO.

HackaMENA follows a series of events and initiatives headlined by DIC this year, including Decode Dubai, in5’s’s first hackathon, droidcon Dubai, the world’s biggest android developer conference and Drones for Good, where inventors battled for a large reward to develop drones that support humanitarian causes. DIC is at the forefront of the National Innovation Strategy and continues to encourage innovation and creativity within the technology and ICT sector.

Announces Next Generation Technology to Accurately Locate and Measure Leaks in Water Distribution & Transmission Systems

Last month, Electro Scan chose World Water Day (Sunday, March 22) to announce its entry in the water leak detection market by posting a YouTube video explaining the technology.

Releasing a focused array of low-voltage high-frequency electrical current (40 milliamps) inside a water pipe, Electro Scan’s international patent-pending technology records data such as distance, water pressure, total current, and defect measurements every 14 milliseconds.

Often recording between 14,000 to 20,000 data points for each 300ft (100m) length of pipe, data is automatically stored on a mobile field device and transmitted to the company’s CriticalH2O cloud application with detailed reports available in minutes.

Any water leak at a pipe joint, service connection, pinhole or crack in a pipe wall is automatically identified without operator interpretation or third-party data analysis.

“Geophysics tells us that if a pipe leaks water it will also leak electric current,” states Hansen. “For a constant applied voltage, the larger the opening, the greater the amount of electric current that will flow through an opening. Applied to water leaks, the larger the hole, the greater the flow, so we can both locate and estimate (gallons per minute or liters per second) of defect flow for any size of leak.”

Acoustic inspection equipment, such as noise loggers, listening devices, and leak noise correlators, have been traditionally used to find general locations of pipe anomalies; however, ambient noise from road traffic, water table heights, pipe material, pipe diameter, leak size, experience of the operator, recurring false-positive readings, lack of repeatability, requirement for third party data interpretation, and lengthy end-user reporting requirements limits the use of acoustic and other non-acoustic techniques to accurately locate and measure water leaks.

Hansen heard of the technology during his role as Chairman and Founder of Hansen Information Technologies, a leading water & sewer asset management application developer sold to Infor Global in 2007.

Well known in the State of California and municipal IT market, Hansen’s prior company was responsible for implementing one of the state’s most successful large-scale IT projects deploying the Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS) for Caltrans, managing all work orders for the California highway system. In 2002, the project was named Computerworld Honors Program Laureate.

إلكترو سكان تنضمّ إلى مجلس المياه العالمي

وتُعلن عن تكنولوجيا من الجيل الجديد لكشف وقياس التسرّبات بدقّة في أنظمة توزيع المياه ونقلها

وقامت "إلكترو سكان"في الشهر الماضي باختيار يوم الماء العالمي (الأحد في 22 مارس) للإعلان عن توسّعها إلى سوق كشف تسرّبات المياه عبر نشر فيديو عبر "يوتيوب"لتفسير التكنولوجيا خاصّتها.

وتقوم تكنولوجيا "إلكترو سكان"التي تنتظر الحصول على براءة اختراع دولية بتسجيل بيانات مثل المسافة وضغط المياه والتيار الإجمالي وقياسات العيوب كلّ 14 جزء من الثانية، وذلك عبر إطلاق مجموعة مركّزة من التيارات الكهربائيّة منخفضة الجهد وعالية التردّد (40 ميلي أمبير) داخل أنابيب المياه.

ويتمّ تخزين البيانات تلقائيّاً، وغالباً ما تسجّل بين 14 ألف و20 ألف نقطة للبيانات لكلّ 300 قدم (100 متر) من الأنابيب، عبر جهاز ميدانيّ جوال لتُبث إلى تطبيق السحابة "كريتيكال إتش تو أو"الخاصّ بالشركة مع توافر تقارير مفصّلة خلال دقائق.

ويتمّ كشف أيّ تسرّب للمياه عند وصلة للأنابيب أو توصيلة إمداد أو ثقب أو صدع في جدار الأنبوب بشكلٍ تلقائيّ من دون تفسير المشغّل أو تحليل البيانات من قبل طرف ثالث.

وفسّر هانسن: "تُخبرنا الجيوفيزياء أنّ الأنبوب الذي يسرّب المياه سيسرّب أيضاً التيار الكهربائي. وبالنسبة لجهدٍ مطبّق ثابت، تزيد كميّة التيار الكهربائي الذي سيتدفّق عبر الفجوة كلّما زاد حجم هذه الفجوة. وفي حالة تسربات المياه، يزيد تدفّق التيار كلّما زاد حجم الثقب ما يمكّننا من تحديد وتقدير (جالون في الدقيقة أو لتر في الثانية) من التدفّق المَعيب لأيّ حجم من التسرّب".

وكان يتمّ استخدام تجهيزات سمعيّة للمعاينة، مثل جهاز تسجيل الضجيج وأجهزة الاستماع وأجهزة تحديد ضجيج التسرّب عادةً، لإيجاد مواقع عامّة من تشوهات الأنابيب، لكن يكون استخدام تقنيات سمعيّة وغير سمعيّة محدوداً في التحديد والقياس الدقيقَين لتسربات المياه بسبب الضجيج المحيط الناتج عن المرور على الطرقات وارتفاع منسوب المياه الجوفيّة ومادة الأنبوب وقطر الأنبوب وحجم التسرّب وخبرة المشغّل والقراءات الإيجابيّة الخاطئة المتكررة وانعدام قابليّة التكرار والحاجة إلى تفسير البيانات من قِبل فريق ثالث والمتطلبات الطويلة لإصدار التقارير إلى المستخدم النهائي.

QNB Group, one of the World’s Strongest Banks and the leading bank in the Middle East and North Africa, announced its results for the three months ended 31 March 2015.

For the three months of 2015, Net Profit was QAR2.7 billion (USD735 million), up by 10.1% compared to last year.

The Group’s prudent cost control policy and strong revenue generating capability allowed it to maintain an efficiency ratio (cost to income ratio) of 21.7%, which is considered one of the best ratios among financial institutions in the region.

Total assets increased by 9.4% from March 2014 to reach QAR502 billion (USD137.8 billion), the highest ever achieved by the Group. This was the result of a strong growth rate of 8.9% in loans and advances to reach QAR345 billion (USD94.9 billion).

The Group was able to maintain the ratio of non-performing loans to gross loans at 1.5%, a level considered one of the lowest amongst banks in the Middle East and Africa, reflecting the high quality of the Group’s loan book and the effective management of credit risk. The Group’s conservative policy in regard to provisioning continued with the coverage ratio reaching 129% in March 2015.

At the same time QNB Group increased customer funding by 6.8% to QAR369 billion (USD101.4 billion). This led to the Group’s loan to deposit ratio reaching 94%.

Total Equity increased by 6.0% from March 2014 to reach QAR54 billion (USD15.0 billion) as at 31 March 2015. Earnings per Share reached QAR3.8 (USD1.1), compared to QAR3.5 in March 2014.

Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) calculated as per the QCB and Basel III requirements stood at 15.1% as at 31 March 2015, higher than the regulatory minimum requirements of the Qatar Central Bank and Basel Committee. The Group is keen to maintain a strong capitalisation in order to support future strategic plans.

During March 2015, Fitch Rating agency upgraded QNB Group to AA-/F1+ on the back of the strength of State of Qatar’s sovereign rating. QNB Group has maintained its credit rating from all other rating agencies and is considered one of the highest in the region. This is a result of QNB Group’s strong financial position, high quality of its assets and leading position in the financial sector.

As a result of the Group’s high credit ratings and outstanding asset quality, it was selected as one of the world’s 50 safest financial institutions by Global Finance.

أعلنت مجموعة QNB، من أقوى بنوك العالم والمؤسسة المصرفية الرائدة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، عن نتائجها المالية للثلاثة أشهر الأولى من عام 2015.

بلغ صافي أرباح مجموعة QNB 2,7 مليار ريال (735 مليون دولار أمريكي) للثلاثة أشهر الأولى من عام 2015، بارتفاع نسبته 10,1% مقارنة مع نفس الفترة من العام الماضي.

وقد أدت سياسة المجموعة في إدارة التكاليف وقدرتها على تحقيق نمو قوي في الإيرادات الى المحافظة على نسبة كفاءة (المصاريف إلى الإيرادات) عند21,7 %، والتي تعتبر من بين أفضل المعدلات على مستوى المؤسسات المالية في المنطقة.

كما ارتفع إجمالي موجودات المجموعة بنسبة9,4%منذ 31مارس 2014ليصل إلى502 مليار ريال (137,8 مليار دولار أمريكي) وهو أعلى مستوى في تاريخ البنك. وقد تمكن البنك من تحقيق ذلك من خلال النمو القوي في محفظة القروض والسلف بنسبة8,9 % لتصل إلى 345 مليار ريال (94,9 مليار دولار أمريكي).

كما حافظ البنك على معدل القروض غير العاملة كنسبة من إجمالي محفظة القروض عند مستوى1,5 %، وهو من بين أدنى المعدلات على نطاق بنوك منطقة الشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا، الأمر الذي يعكس الجودة العالية لمحفظة القروض وفعالية سياسة إدارة المخاطر الائتمانية. كما واصلت المجموعة سياستها المتحفظة في بناء المخصصات حيث بلغت نسبة تغطية القروض غير العاملة129 % بنهاية الربع الأول من عام 2015.

وبموازاة ذلكارتفعت ودائع العملاء بنسبة6,8 % لتصل إلى369 مليار ريال (101,4 مليار دولار أمريكي)، مما ساهم في وصول نسبة القروض إلى الودائع إلى مستوى94 %.

وارتفع إجمالي حقوق المساهمين بنسبة6,0% منذ 31 مارس2014 ليصل إلى54 مليار ريال (15,0 مليار دولار أمريكي). كما بلغ العائد على السهم 3,8 ريال (1,1 دولار أمريكي) مقارنة مع 3,5 ريال في 31 مارس2014.

وقد بلغت نسبة كفاية رأس المال المحتسبة بموجب متطلبات مصرف قطر المركزي ولجنة بازل III ما نسبته 15,1% في31 مارس 2015، وهو معدل أعلى من متطلبات مصرف قطر المركزي ولجنة بازل. وتركز سياسة المجموعة في المحافظة على قاعدة متينة لرأس المال لدعم خططها الإستراتيجية المستقبلية.

The beautiful, rolling hills of Tuscany in Italy are as alive with history and culture as they are with flora and fauna. In the heart of the region, in the area between Florence, Pisa and Siena, is an 800-year-old estate dominated by an ancient castle: once home to the Medici family, this beautiful but neglected corner of Italy has been thoughtfully redeveloped and reborn as Toscana Resort Castelfalfi. In the 1960s, the 11,000-hectare estate was abandoned by all but five of its residents in a countrywide rural exodus. Then in 2007, TUI AG, one of world’s leading travel groups, came across the property and saw it potential.  ‘From the very outset the idea was to restore the ancient village and bring it back to life,’ says Director Stefan Neuhaus. ‘We are preserving the site’s original structure and reinstating part of Italy’s heritage, but with all the additional modern services and standards that you would expect from such an upmarket resort. ’

Work on transforming the estate into a luxury resort began in 2011. The renovation of the borgo – the outskirts of the castle walls – commenced with the restoration of the residential complex comprising 41 apartments completed in the summer 2013, and with the development of the first of three planned hotels. Built within the walls of the old tobacco factory, the 31-room La Tabaccaia retains many of its host structure’s original features and there’s also a typical Trattoria-Pizzeria in a renovated building close by and a restaurant that opened its doors in June 2014, located in the Castle, with a panoramic terrace and amazing 360 degrees views over the countryside. The Castle will be the perfect location for those looking for a magic setting for weddings, private gatherings or business meetings.

Scattered throughout the estate are 26 original farmhouses, or casali, four of which have been dismantled and lovingly rebuilt using the same stones. The buildings’ wooden beams have also been preserved and each farmhouse has a traditional terracotta tile roof, while bathrooms have been brought up to date using local marble or ceramic tiles. With the capacity to adapt each interior according to its owner’s specifications, these casali present an exciting prospect for would be buyers, whether seeking a stunning second home or a superior rental investment. Several of the properties also line the resort’s 27-hole golf course, which is already considered one of the best courses in Italy. Some of the farmhouse are also available for weekly rentals.

Strewn with vineyards and olive and cypress trees, the estate is also a hunting reserve, playing home to wild boars, deer and foxes. It is also already self-sufficient in terms of water and there are plans to create a biomass plant, which will enable Toscana Resort Castelfalfi to produce its own biofuel.  ‘We searched for this place for a long time,’ says Stefan Neuhaus. ‘What we are developing is not a typical resort, it’s a new approach for the international luxury travel market that offers apartments, a range of farmhouses, a luxury club concept and four and five stars hotels. Metito involved in high profile strategic municipal water projects as economic recovery indicates new investment opportunities

6 April, 2015 – Metito, the leader and provider of choice for total intelligent water management solutions in emerging markets, has announced its participation in four strategic municipal water projects in Egypt worth more than EGP220 million.

With a longstanding partnership, the National Organisation for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage (NOPWASD) assigned Metito the Arymon Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and the Shahidy Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), which are expected to be completed in 2016.

El Gharbia Company for Water and Waste Water, a division of HCWW, has also contracted Metito to perform a reconstruction and extension of the Muhalla Water Treatment Plant in El Mahalla El Kobra City. The multimillion Egyptian pound project will see Metito build a new 70,000 m3/per day plant to treat water from the Nile River using Pulsator technology as a supplement to the two existing treatment plants. This plant is being developed as a sustainable treatment solution that is also cost effective as compared to refurbishing the existing plants dating from 1920 and 1970 respectively, and losing on non-revenue water from possible obsolete facilities.

The Toshka Compact Surface Water Treatment Plant for The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), is the last of the four strategic project recently awarded and is set to be completed in Q4 2015.

Buoyed by a series of reforms by Egypt’s current government, the economic recovery of Egypt has taken robust steps in recent months as highlighted at the well-received Egyptian Economic Conference earlier last month. This positive wave of change has led to increased investment in many sectors, bringing back to life several infrastructure projects previously put on hold, as well as facilitating new ones.

Metito’s regional headquarters in Africa is based in Egypt, where the company has been active for many years developing sustainable projects in many strategic locations.  Commenting on the healthy market activity Egypt has recently been witnessing, Karim Madwar, Metito Africa Managing Director, said: “Egypt will always be a key developing market for Metito and for the water and wastewater industry due to its strategic location, population growth and its inherent need for critical sustainable infrastructure solutions and facilities for both municipal and industrial applications.

ماتيتو تشارك في مشاريع استراتيجية رفيعة المستوى لمياه الشرب والصرف الصحى بالتزامن مع الانتعاش الاقتصادي الذي تشهده مصر

6 أبريل 2015- أعلنت ماتيتو، الشركة الرائدة في مجال توفير الحلول الذكية المتكاملة لإدارة المياه في الأسواق الناشئة، عن مشاركتها في أربع مشاريع استراتيجية لمياه الشرب والصرف الصحي  في مصر بقيمة إجمالية تزيد عن 222 مليون جنيه مصري.

من خلال شراكة طويلة الأمد، عينت الهيئة القومية لمياه الشرب و الصرف الصحي المصرية شركة ماتيتو لإدارة محطة أريمون بكفر الشيخ و محطة الشهيدى بمحافظة الغربية لمعالجة مياه الصرف الصحي، واللتان من المتوقع اكتمالهما في عام 2016.

كما قامت الشركة الغربية للمياه و مياه الصرف الصحي، وهي فرع من الشركة القابضة لمياه الشرب والصرف الصحي، بالتعاقد مع شركة ماتيتو لأعمال إعادة الإعمار و توسيع محطة تنقية المياه في مدينة المحلة الكبرى. و سيشهد المشروع الذي تبلغ قيمته عدة ملايين من الجنيهات المصرية قيام ماتيتو ببناء محطة معالجة جديدة بطاقة استيعابية تصل إلى 70,000 متر مكعب في اليوم لمعالجة مياه نابعة من نهر النيل باستخدام تقنية الترشيح النابض كمكمل للمحطتين القائمتين حاليا. كما يجري تطوير هذه المحطة كحل مستدام و فعال من حيث التكلفة بالمقارنة مع خيار تجديد المحطات القائمة التي يرجع تاريخها إلى عامي 1920 و 1970 على التوالي.

أما محطة "توشكى  المدمجة"لمعالجة المياه السطحية التابعة لهيئة المجتمعات العمرانية الجديدة، فهو المشروع الاستراتيجي الرابع الذي فازت به ماتيتو مؤخرا، و من المتوقع أن يتم اكتماله في الربع الأخير من عام 2015.

و الجدير بالذكر ان شركة ماتيتو اختارت مصر كمقر اقليمي لها في أفريقيا ، حيث نجحت في تطويرمشاريع مستدامة في العديد من المواقع الاستراتيجية في القارة. و تعليقا على الانتعاش الذي شهده السوق المصري مؤخرا، قال كريم مدوّر، المدير العام لماتيتو أفريقيا: "ستكون مصر دائماً سوقاً رئيسية لماتيتو في الأسواق النامية ولصناعة المياه ومياه الصرف الصحي بصفة عامة نظرا لموقعها الاستراتيجي والنمو السكاني و الحاجة الماسة لحلول مستدامة و حيوية للبنية التحتية والمرافق لكل من الخدمات البلدية و القطاع الصناعي".

و قد قطع الاقتصاد المصري خطوات سباقة نحو الانتعاش في الأشهر الأخيرة بعد سلسلة من الإصلاحات التي اتخذتها الحكومة المصرية الحالية، وهو ما كان محور حديث المؤتمر الاقتصادي المصري الذي عقد الشهر الماضي بشرم الشيخ. وقد أدت موجة التغيير الإيجابية هذه إلى زيادة الاستثمارات في العديد من القطاعات، لتعود عدة مشاريع للبنية التحتية مرة أخرى إلى الحياة بعد توقفها لفترة طويلة، فضلا عن التسهيلات لعقد مشاريع جديدة.

و أضاف مدوّر: "بعد عدة سنوات من التقلبات السياسية والاقتصادية، دخل الاقتصاد المصري مرحلة انتعاش مطرد مع عودة واضحة لمشاريع مياه الشرب والصرف الصحي ذات النطاق الصغير و المهمة لاستمرار التنمية الصناعية في البلاد. هذا و إلى جانب مشاريع مياه الشرب والصرف الصحي ذات النطاق الكبير و الحيوية لتلبية الاحتياجات الأكبر للمجتمع المصري في القطاعين السكني و التجاري على حد سواء. المشروعات التي فزنا بها مؤخرا ليست سوى مثال على هذا النمو الذي نراه متصاعدا."

• Prime CBD office rental rates have risen by 3% year-on-year while secondary rates recorded an increase of around 7% year-on-year

Dubai, 08 April, 2015 - Despite a substantial rise in new stock, the residential and office markets have still remained broadly stable, a positive indicator after a period of significant rental and sale price growth over the past two years, according to the Q1 2015 Dubai MarketView by global real estate consultancy firm CBRE.

Mat Green, Head of Research & Consultancy UAE, CBRE Middle East, said, “Strong economic fundamentals and increased government spending towards infrastructure projects have been instrumental in maintaining a healthy equilibrium across the real estate sector, during the first quarter.”

“Around 0.42 million m² of new office space and 16,000 residential units (apartments & villas) entered the market during 2014, helping to control rental inflation in the second half of the year.”

According to the CBRE report, the office sector remained steady during the quarter with the average CBD rental rates unchanged at AED1,885/m²/annum while year-on-year the increase has been marginal at 3%.

“Positively, Dubai hasn’t experienced a slowdown in demand as a result of the declining oil price, largely due to the diverse nature of the emirate’s economy and the UAE’s position as the regional business hub,” further commented Green.

The total office stock as of Q1 2015 measured 8.1 million m² with an addition of approximately 40,000 m² from the Dubai Design District delivered during the quarter.

According to the report, sustained growth in small and medium enterprising (SMEs) within Dubai’s free zones continues, helping to improve occupancy rates and drive rental rates.   Furthermore, larger space occupiers continue to seek consolidation opportunities in better quality accommodation.

“Secondary rents now average AED1,170/m²/annum, compared with AED1,090/m²/annum during Q1 2014, representing 7% growth year-on-year,” stated Green.

According to the CBRE report, year-on-year, residential sale transactions registered a significant drop in overall value terms, falling 20%, whilst volumes also declined by around 4%.  However, on quarter-on-quarter basis, there has actually been a rise in both transaction values and volumes.  

During Q1 2015, total sales transactions were valued at AED6.39 billion with 3,896 transactions completed.  This compared with a value of AED4.55 billion and 2,573 deals during Q4 2014.  However, it was not sufficient to avoid a decline in average sales rates, which fell by around 2% over the quarter.

“Prime residential areas continue to attract the bulk of investment appetite, with properties from Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, Emirates Living, Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) and Downtown Dubai recording a total sales value of AED3.27 billion, equating to 51% of the total value transacted,” further stated Green.

Dubai Marina/JBR recorded a total transaction value of AED1.08 billion, spread across 512 deals, which equates to an average deal value of AED2.11 million.  During the same period Emirates Living recorded total sales measuring AED0.808 billion, from 245 transactions.  Palm Jumeirah remained the most expensive in terms of transaction value per deal.  The development recorded total sales measuring AED0.815 billion across 145 deals, which calculated to an average deal value of AED5.62 million.  This reflects the significant influence of villa sales on the overall transaction values.

“The residential leasing market has remained broadly stable for a third consecutive quarter, with only minor changes in rental rates recorded.  The markets relative stability during the past nine months is reflected in the huge swing in growth figures from 27% in the year to Q1, 2014 versus 3% in the year to Q1, 2015,” added Green.

Within the apartment segment, emergence of new supply and traffic related issues has led to drop in rental rates in few residential districts while other developments with improved infrastructure and retail facilities maintained healthy rental rates, mentioned the CBRE report.

The average drop/gain in apartment rental rates during the quarter has been in the range of ±1 to 3%.  Districts which have witnessed a drop in rates include Al Nahda, Al Barsha, International Media Production Zone, Motor City and Liwan, whilst the gainers included Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Discovery Gardens and Karama.

Villa / townhouse rental rates remained largely unchanged during the quarter, with smaller 2-bedroom unit types witnessing an increase of around 1% quarter-on-quarter, while larger three to five bedroom units experienced a drop of close to 1% during the same period.  This has been driven by an increase in the supply of villa units, a trend that is likely to gather pace over the next 12 months.

“The villa market witnessed the addition of roughly 3,000 new units during 2014 which has to an extent helped to balance rental inflation.  Rental rates for six and seven bedroom units remained unchanged due to more limited supply availability.  The most significant rental declines were noted in Jumeirah Village and The Villa developments, which registered a drop of 3% and 4% respectively quarter-on-quarter,” added Green.

Commenting on the outlook of the residential and office market, Green concluded, “The delivery of a significant number of new units during 2015, will add further pressure to the residential market over the course of the year.  The leasing market which has remained stable over the past three quarters is expected to witness increased landlord incentives in the form of rent-free period and other allowances, whilst rental declines are also likely in some areas.  The average sale rate for residential properties dipped by 2% quarter-on-quarter and is expected see further drop during the course of the year.”

“The commercial office market is anticipated to see continued strong demand across major freezone locations.  However, the current global economic situation could lead to an elongation of negotiation and deal periods, as head offices in Europe and the US take longer to sanction moves amidst on-going uncertainty, low oil prices and rising regional unrest.”

أسواق تأجير العقارات السكنية والمكتبية في دبي تحافظ على استقرارها، في مقابل انخفاض معدل المبيعات

• أسعار تأجير المكاتب الرئيسية ذات النوعية العالية ترتفع بمعدل 3% على أساس سنوي فيما سجلت أسعار تأجير المكاتب الثانوية انتعاشاً بنحو 7% على أساس سنوي

• شهد تأجير العقارات السكنية نمواً سنوياً بنسبة لم تتجاوز 3% في الربع الأول من عام 2015

• انخفضت معدلات مبيعات الوحدات السكنية بنحو 2% خلال الربع، على الرغم من الأداء غير الثابت في السوق

دبي، 8 أبريل 2015-على الرغم من الزيادة الكبيرة في إجمالي المساحة العقارية المتوفرة، بقيت أسواق العقارات المكتبية والسكنية مستقرة على نطاق واسع، وهو مؤشر إيجابي بعد فترة نمو كبير شهدته أسعار التأجير والمبيعات على مدى العامين الماضيين، وذلك حسب تقرير الربع الأول من 2015 لسوق دبي الذي نشرته شركة الاستشارات العقارية العالمية "سي بي آر إي".

في هذا السياق قال مات غرين، رئيس بحوث واستشارات الإمارات في سي بي آر إي: "لعبت الأسس الاقتصادية القوية وزيادة الإنفاق الحكومي على مشاريع البنية التحتية دوراً رئيسياً في الحفاظ على توازن صحي للقطاع العقاري خلال الربع الأول من العام. وتم طرح نحو 0.42 مليون متر مربع من المساحة المكتبية الجديدة و16 ألف وحدة سكنية (شقق وفلل) في السوق خلال عام 2014، مما ساعد في ضبط تضخم الإيجارات خلال النصف الثاني من العام."

وبحسب التقرير، حافظ قطاع المكاتب على استقراره خلال الربع حيث لم يتغير متوسط معدلات الإيجار عند قيمة 1885 درهم لكل متر مربع سنوياً، فيما كانت الزيادة على أساس سنوي هامشية عند نسبة 3%.

ليقول مات: "بشكل إيجابي، لم تشهد دبي تباطؤاً في الطلب نتيجة لانخفاض أسعار النفط؛ ويعود ذلك بشكل كبير إلى التنوع الذي يتسم به اقتصاد الإمارة فضلاً عن المكانة المتميزة التي تتبوؤها الدولة باعتبارها مركزاً إقليمياً رائداً للأعمال."

ووصل إجمالي مساحة المكاتب في الربع الأول من عام 2015 إلى 8.1 مليون متر مربع فضلاً عن تسليم نحو 40 ألف متر مربع من منطقة دبي للتصميم خلال هذه الفترة. وواصل النمو المستدام في المؤسسات الصغيرة والمتوسطة ضمن المنطقة الحرة بدبي انتعاشه ليرتد على تحسين معدلات الإشغال وزيادة أسعار الإيجارات. وعلاوة على ذلك، واصل شاغلو المساحات الأكبر حجماً سعيهم للبحث عن فرص الاندماج في مشاريع سكنية ذات نوعية أفضل.

وأضاف مات: "بلغ متوسط الإيجارات الثانوية نحو 1170 درهم إماراتي لكل متر مربع سنوياً، بالمقارنة مع 1090 درهم إماراتي للمتر المربع في العام خلال الربع الأول من عام 2014، بما يمثل نسبة نمو 7% على أساس سنوي."

من ناحية العقارات السكنية أشار التقرير إلى أن عمليات بيع العقارات السكنية سجلت انخفاضاً ملحوظاً من حيث قيمتها الإجمالية بنسبة 20% على أساس سنوي، فيما انخفض الحجم بنحو 4%؛ ولم يؤثر ذلك على انتعاش قيم التعاملات وأحجامها على أساس ربعي.

وخلال الربع الأول من عام 2015، بلغت القيمة الإجمالية لتعاملات البيع مقدار 6.39 مليار درهم إماراتي مع استكمال 3896 عملية؛ بالمقارنة مع قيمة 4.55 مليار درهم إماراتي و2573 صفقة خلال الربع الأخير من عام 2014. ولم يكن ذلك كافياً لتجنب حصول انخفاض في متوسط أسعار المبيعات التي انخفضت بنحو 2% خلال الربع.

في هذا الصدد قال مات غرين: "تواصل المشاريع السكنية رفيعة المستوى استقطابها للجزء الأكبر من الشهية الاستثمارية، حيث سجلت مشاريع عقارية مثل النخلة جميرا، ومرسى دبي، و’الإمارات ليفنج‘، و’جميرا بيتش ريزيدنس‘، ووسط مدينة دبي، قيمة مبيعات إجمالية بلغت 3.27 مليار درهم إماراتي، بما يعادل 51% من إجمالي القيمة المتداولة."

وسجل مرسى دبي / ’جميرا بيتش ريزيدنس‘ قيمة تداول إجمالية بلغت 1.08 مليار درهم إماراتي وتوزعت على 512 صفقة، بما يعادل معدل تداولات بقيمة 2.11 مليون درهم إماراتي. وخلال الفترة ذاتها، سجلت ’الإمارات ليفنج‘ قيمة مبيعات إجمالية وصلت إلى 0.808 مليار درهم إماراتي ناتجة عن 245 صفقة. وحافظت النخلة جميرا على كونها الأكثر غلاء من حيث قيمة التداولات لكل صفقة. وسجلت مشاريع التطوير مبيعات إجمالية قدرت بـ 0.815 مليار درهم إماراتي عبر 145 صفقة، بما يعادل قيمة صفقات بمقدار 5.62 مليون درهم إماراتي. وتعكس هذه الأرقام التأثير الكبير لمبيعات الفلل على القيمة الإجمالية للتداولات.

وحافظ سوق تأجير العقارات السكنية على استقراره للربع الثالث على التوالي مع تغيرات طفيفة في معدل الإيجارات. وانعكس الاستقرار النسبي في السوق خلال الأشهر التسعة الماضية عبر التباين الواضح في أرقام النمو من 27% سنوياً في الربع الأول من عام 2014 إلى 3% سنوياً في الربع الأول من عام 2015.

وفي قطاع الشقق، ساهم ظهور عروض جديدة في انخفاض أسعار الإيجارات ضمن عدة أحياء سكنية، فيما حافظت مشاريع تطوير أخرى ذات بنية تحتية ومرافق تجارية متطورة على معدلات إيجارات صحية.

وتراوحت معدلات الانخفاض / الزيادة في أسعار الإيجارات خلال الربع بين 1± إلى 3%. وتتضمن المناطق التي شهدت انخفاضاً في معدلات الأسعار كلاً من النهضة والبرشاء و’المنطقة العالمية للإنتاج الإعلامي‘، و’موتور سيتي‘ والليوان؛ فيما تضمنت المناطق التي شهدت نمواً كلاً من أبراج بحيرات الجميرا وحدائق ديسكفري والكرامة.

وبقيت أسعار تأجير الفلل / المنازل الريفية دون تغيير ملحوظ خلال الربع فيما انتعشت الوحدات الأصغر حجماً، والمكونة من غرفتي نوم، بنسبة 1% على أساس ربعي، وشهدت الوحدات الأكبر حجماً، والتي تتكون من ثلاث إلى خمس غرف نوم، انخفاضاً بنحو 1% خلال الفترة ذاتها. وكان الدافع وراء ذلك هو زيادة العرض من وحدات الفلل، وهو توجه من المرجح أن يتسارع خلال الأشهر الـ 12 المقبلة.

ليقول مات غرين في هذا الصدد: "شهد سوق الفلل إضافة 3000 وحدة جديدة خلال عام 2014، الأمر الذي ساهم إلى حد ما بموازنة التضخم في أسعار الإيجارات. ولم يطرأ أي تغير كبير على أسعار إيجارات الوحدات المكونة من ست إلى سبع غرف نوم نظراً لمحدودية العروض المتوفرة. وتم تسجيل أكبر انخفاض في الأسعار ضمن مشروعي قرية جميرا و’ذا فيلا‘، والتي شهدت انخفاضاً بنسبة 3% و4% على التوالي على أساس ربعي."

وتعليقا على الآفاق المستقبلية لسوق العقارات في دبي قال مات غرين: "يلعب توفر عدد كبير من الوحدات الجديدة خلال عام 2015 دوراً مهماً في زيادة الضغط على سوق العقارات السكنية على مدار العام.

ومن المتوقع أن يشهد سوق الإيجار، الذي حافظ على استقراره خلال الأرباع الثلاثة الماضية، زيادة في حوافز المالكين بشكل فترة تأجير مجانية وبدلات أخرى، في حين يتوقع تراجع الإيجارات في بعض المناطق أيضاً. كما انخفض متوسط سعر بيع العقارات السكنية بنحو 2% على أساس ربعي ويتوقع أن يشهد مزيداً من الانخفاض على مدار العام.

في حين من المتوقع أن يشهد سوق المكاتب التجارية استمراراً في الطلب القوي على أبرز مواقع المناطق الحرة. ومع ذلك، يمكن أن تؤدي الظروف الاقتصادية العالمية الراهنة إلى إطالة أمد التفاوضات والصفقات، فيما تستغرق المكاتب الرئيسية في أوروبا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وقتاً أطول لفرض قيود على التحركات الجارية وسط ارتياب مستمر، وانخفاض أسعار النفط وارتفاع الاضطرابات الإقليمية."

Ultra compact & cost effective i200 targets region’s financial services, healthcare and retail sector

Dubai, UAE, April 8th, 2015– Giada Technology, the leader in embedded computing and servers for small and medium enterprise, has announced an update of its compact mini PC - i200, which is specially designed for industrial application in financial services, health care, and retail. The i200 helps the industrial users to enhance control and manageability and simplify the processing procedure, thus saving on operating costs. Moreover, what distinguishes Giada i200 from the ordinary thin client on the market is that it can fulfill different demands for different industries. Take the financial industry for an example. It is essential to have all peripheral devices (such as ID card readers, signature panels, password input keyboard, evaluation panels etc.) as well as virtualization and other office software operate smoothly. That requires high performance which is a big challenge to the ordinary thin client. However, Giada i200 provides a perfect solution for this.  

In addition, the i200 adopts Giada’s self-developed JAHC technology, including the functions of RTC Wake Up, Auto Power On after AC Loss and IR Remote Control before the OS on, which considerably reduces the maintenance cost.

ENEC received the confirmation as part of PAS 99:2012

Abu Dhabi, UAE - The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) recently received six international ISO re-certifications from Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety services including a full range of business process audit and support services to a wide range of industries around the world.

ENEC underwent rigorous, impartial, comprehensive auditing and assessment by Intertek auditors to ensure that its operations conform to international standards.

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة: جدّدت مؤسسة الإمارات للطاقة النووية ست شهادات ISO من "إنترتك"، التي تعدّ شركة رائدة في خدمات الجودة والسلامة ومجموعة من إجراءات مراجعة الأعمال وخدمات الدعم لقطاعات كثيرة متنوعة حول العالم. وخضعت المؤسسة لإجراءات تدقيقية وتقييمية صارمة وموضوعية وشاملة من مدققي "إنترتك"لضمان إيفاء عملياتها بالمعايير العالمية.

وتولّت "إنترتك"تقييم برامج المؤسسة المعتمدة حاليًا لإدارة مشاريعها ونظام الإدارة المتكامل فيها قبل أن تمنحها الشهادات التالية: شهادة (ISO 9001:2008) لنظام إدارة الجودة، شهادة (ISO 14001:2004) لنظام الإدارة البيئية، شهادة (OHSAS 18001:2007) لنظام الصحة المهنية وإدارة السلامة، شهادة (ISO 20000:2005) لإدارة خدمة تقنية المعلومات، شهادة (ISO 27001:2013) لنظام إدارة أمن المعلومات، شهادة (ISO 22301:2012) لنظام إدارة استمرارية الأعمال وذلك ضمن مواصفات (PAS 99:2012) لمتطلبات إدارة النظم الاعتيادية.

وبعد تجديد هذه الشهادات، ستواصل مؤسسة الإمارات للطاقة النووية سعيها نحو التميّز، فاهتمامها ينصبّ على تحقيق الجودة والتأكد من أن نظم المؤسسة تتسم بالشمولية والمنهجية وتنتهج خططًا موضوعة مع توثيق كل النظم والحفاظ على سياساتها لحماية البيئة.

ستضمن هذه الشهادات أن المؤسسة تراقب الصحة المهنية ومخاطر السلامة فيها، وأن البنية الخاصة بتقنية المعلومات لديها تتوافق مع المعايير المطبقة لإدارة وحماية البيانات في حين تعمل على تحقيق التميّز التشغيلي.

وقد أجري تقييم مفصَّل للمخاطر وللإطار الهيكلي للمؤسسة للتأكد من كفاءة بنيتها التقنية، وأُجريت أيضًا اختبارات لخدماتها الخارجية لضمان السرية والنزاهة والتبادل الآمن للبيانات وتوافر المعلومات الحساسة. ويضمن نظام استمرارية الأعمال المتبع في المؤسسة التحكم بمخاطر التهديدات الداخلية والخارجية.

وصرح حسين الأطرقجي، المدير التنفيذي الإقليمي في "إنترتك"لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا وباكستان: "إن تجديدها لهذه الشهادات في كافة عملياتها وإداراتها يعتبر بمثابة إنجاز عظيم بالنسبة لمؤسسة الإمارات للطاقة النووية وهو إنجاز يعكس حرصها كمؤسسة حكومية على إدارة عمليات تشغيل عالمية المستوى في كل أعمالها."

NAPCO Men’s Tradition 2015 sees participation of more than 100 golfing amateurs from the construction, oil & gas and automobile segments

April 08, 2015 - National Aluminium Products Company SAOG (NAPCO), one of the leading extruders of aluminium profiles in the GCC, successfully hosted the NAPCO Men’s Tradition 2015, the company’s pioneering and the Sultanate of Oman’s first ever golf tournament for amateur golf players from the construction, oil & gas and automobile segments, which was held recently at the Muscat Hills Golf & Country Club. More than 100 golfing amateurs saw action in the exciting two-day event, which offered exciting hole-in-one prizes like a Harley Davidson motorcycle and First Class tickets to London.

The tournament was played in two popular golf formats – Two-ball Scramble Stableford and Pairs Betterball Stableford. Tenzin Tsarong and Faiz Riaz emerged victorious over two days of tournament play and were awarded Samsung LED televisions during a gala dinner hosted on the last day of the event. After dinner, guests were provided with entertainment from the evening’s hosts. Sponsors for this inaugural tournament included Millennium Resort Mussanah (Official Hotel), Zainal Baqer Mohebi (Official Cigar), Harley Davidson (Official Motorcycle), Tanuf Water (Official Water), Trasmetal and Compes Dies as support sponsors.

08 أبريل 2015 - إختتمت الشركة الوطنية لمنتجات الألمنيوم "نابكو"، إحدى الشركات الرائدة في مجال صناعة مقاطع الألمنيوم في دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي فعاليات الدورة الأولى من بطولة "الجولف التقليدية للرجال 2015" (NAPCO Men’s Tradition 2015)، التي تنظمها الشركة في سلطنة عُمان للاعبي الجولف الهواة في قطاعات الإنشاء والنفط والغاز والسيارات. وشهدت البطولة التي إستمرت على مدى يومين على ملعب "مسقط هيلز جولف آند كانتري كلوب"مشاركة أكثر من 100 شخص من هواة اللعبة في حدث تميز بالحماسة والتنافسية، وتم في نهاية الحدث توزيع الجوائز القيمة على الفائزين بفئة "هول إن وان" (أي تسديد الكرة من نقطة البداية إلى الحفرة بضربة واحدة) بما فيها دراجة هارلي ديفيدسون وتذاكر سفر إلى لندن من الدرجة الأولى.

وتم لعب البطولة وفق طريقتين شائعتين للعبة الجولف، الأولى يتم فيها احتساب النقاط من خلال ضرب كرتين بنظام "ستابلفورد"، والثانية يتم فيها احتساب النقاط عن أفضل كرة بين اثنين من اللاعبين وفق نظام "ستابلفورد"أيضاً. وقد فاز بالبطولة كل من تنزين تسارونج وفايز رياض اللذين حصلا على أجهزة تلفاز سامسونج LED خلال حفل العشاء الذي أقيم في اليوم الأخير من البطولة، والذي تخلل تقديم فقرات تسلية للضيوف من الجهات المستضيفة للحفل.

وشملت قائمة الجهات الرسمية الراعية كل من "منتجع ميلينيوم في المصنعة"، و"زينل باقر محبيللسيجار"، و"هارلي ديفيدسون"، و"تانوف للمياه المعدنية"، بالإضافة الى شركتي "تراسميتال"و"كومبس ديز".

كشفت شركة سفن تايدز، احدى شركات التطوير العقاري الرائدة و التي تتخذ من دبي مقراَ لها، عن مشروع ديوكس أوشيانا و الذي يعد أحدث مشاريع الشركة الفاخرة، و الذي يمثل فندقاَ و مبنىَ سكنياَ فاخراَ.

وأخذ كل من البرواني وعزام في فئة "سينيرز"الأمور على محمل الجد انطلاقاً من لحظة بداية السباقات التأهيلية، حيث ضمن عزام مركز الصدارة بفارق أربعة أجزاء من الألف من الثانية فقط، فيما قطع العشرة الأوائل خط النهاية بفارق ثانية عن رقم المتصدر في مشهد عكس تقارباً في المستوى خلال أمسية السباق.

وتحول السباق الأول إلى معركة خماسية جمعت اثنين من أسرع المتأهلين، إضافة إلى كل من حسين أوميد علي وسام زين وطالبة المدرسة أبيجيل بيرش.   

وشهد السباق منافسة قوية بين هذا الخماسي لدرجة اصطدام المصد بالمصد مع ارتكاب أقل قدر من الأخطاء، حيث تمكن البرواني من أخذ زمام الصدارة قبل لفتين على نهاية السباق، فيما حل أوميد علي ثانياً متقدماً على كل من زين وبيرش وعزام. وجاء ماز نواز في المركز السادس بعد منافسة طويلة مع بول شاتيناي وكارستن وينتر وبيوتر كاريكوسكي والمراهق فريزر روز الذين أكملوا المراكز العشرة الأولى.

وفي السباق الثاني، كان التنافس على الصدارة محصوراً بين المرشحين المعتادين، حيث تمكن عزام من تحقيق أعلى قدر من النقاط وبفارق لم يتخطى 0.069 من الثانية عن البرواني ليعبرا خط النهاية جنباً إلى جنب، فيما حل زين ثالثاً.

وحل في المركز الرابع أوميد علي، الذي تمكّن من الحد من طموحات كل من بيرش ونواز ووينتر، فيما جاء بيوتر كاريكوسكي ثامناً تلاه روز وماريو هيريروس في المركز التاسع. وحلت المتسابقة ناديا خان في المركز الحادي عشر في كلا السباقين.

وفي وقت سابق من أمسية السباق، وضمن فئة "أس. دبليو. أس. جونيورز"، تمكّن زيد العلمي من تسجيل أعلى قدر من النقاط في السباقات التأهيلية، متقدماً على أليكس كونور وسيف النجار، فيما انتزع كونور الفوز في سباق النهائي الكبير بفارق مريح عن كمال آغا الذي حل ثانياً وأوليفر والتون في المركز الثالث.

وضمت قائمة الفائزين بالسباقات التأهيلية خلال الأمسية كلاً من أليكس رينر (السباق التأهيلي الأول) والعلمي (السباق التأهيلي الثاني) وكونور (السباق التأهيلي الثالث) والنجار (السباق التأهيلي الرابع) وجاكوب فيتزسيمونز الفائز بالنهائي.

وستقام أمسية سباق "أس. دبيلو. أس. سبرينت"القادمة في 20 أبريل/نيسان الجاري على حلبة الكارتدروم.

التطبيق على ثلاثة مراحل يشمل الموقع الإلكتروني ومركز الإتصال والتطبيقات الذكية

دبي، الإمارات – 8 أبريل 5201: إستجابةً لتوجيهات صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي، رعاه الله، باشرت سلطة المنطقة الحرة بمطار دبي "دافزا"تطبيق مبادرة "مؤشر السعادة"الأولى من نوعها في العالم التي تنظمها "حكومة دبي الذكية"لقياس رضا المتعاملين لديها ومدى سعادتهم تجاه الخدمات المقدّمة لهم.

ويشكّل نظام "مؤشر السعادة"خطوةً نوعيةً في مسيرة "دافزا"نحو التحوّل إلى "مدينة ذكية"، وذلك باعتباره يوفّر منصةً إلكترونيةً شاملةً لضمان القياس الحي والمباشر لمدى رضا المتعاملين ومتابعة إحتياجاتهم وضمان التواصل المستمر معهم في سبيل تحسين جودة الخدمات المقدّمة بما يتماشى مع تطلّعاتهم. ويجري تطبيق نظام "مؤشر السعادة"على ثلاث مراحل، حيث تضمنت المرحلتين الأولى والثانية تحديث الموقع الإلكتروني ومراكز الإتصال التابعة لـ "دافزا"لتشمل "مؤشر السعادة"الذي يتيح للمتعامل تحديد مدى سعادته بتجربة الخدمة فور انتهائها. وتشمل المرحلة الثالثة إضافة المؤشر إلى تطبيق "دافزا"على الهواتف المتحرّكة والأجهزة الذكية.

وسيتضمن إستطلاع الرأي تقييم جودة الخدمات المقدّمة عبر الموقع الإلكتروني للمنطقة الحرّة ومركز خدمة المتعاملين، بالإضافة إلى رصد أداء الموظفين وكفاءة قنوات ومراكز الإتصال في "دافزا". وسيتم جمع كافة الاستبيانات بشكل يومي ليتم تقييمها وتصنيفها وفق معايير موحّدة وقياسية لتحديد مستويات سعادة المتعاملين وتوفير حلول شاملة لتطوير الخدمات والإرتقاء بها بما يتناسب مع إحتياجاتهم ومتطلباتهم.

First ivory crush in Middle East to combat prohibited trade of wildlife products

The UAE Ministry of Environment and Water, in collaboration with the Dubai Municipality, are set to destroy more than 10 tonnes of illegal ivory. The ivory was seized, over the years, from smugglers of illegal shipments from the UAE borders, due to its geographical location and strategic air and sea traffic movements through its territory. The ivory crush will be the first in the GCC and Middle East aimed at combating illegal trade of wildlife products and addressing the challenges that threaten the survival of the elephants and prevent its extinction, which would lead to ecological and wildlife imbalance.

The ivory seized and confiscated in collaboration with the different customs points in the country and the Ministry of Interiors, reflects the UAE’s extensive efforts in fighting the illicit trafficking in ivory and wildlife. The move demonstrates zero tolerance for any form of such illegal shipments across the UAE border and is in line with the country’s commitment to the international recommendations and decisions issued by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), which the UAE joined in 1990.

This historic event exhibits the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water’s keenness along with all the partners in the country to address this environmental hazard and deliver a clear message to the international community about the seriousness of the situation. There is the need to unite to support the efforts to limit the spread of this trade that will lead to the extinction of the elephant species from the world and directly affect its biodiversity. The ivory crushing will send a strong message to the international community that the UAE is very strict with regard to illegal trade in ivory and elephant products and will continue its pursuit to preserve the most threatened and endangered species and promote environmental sustainability.

إتلاف ما يتجاوز عن 10 طن من العاج في 29 أبريل 2015 في الإمارات

دبي، الإمارات – 8 أبريل 5201: تستعد وزارة البيئة والمياه بالتعاون مع بلدية دبي، إلى إتلاف ما يتجاوز 10 طن من العاج المصادر من الشحنات غير القانونية بمنتجات الحياة البرية، التي تعبر حدود دولة الإمارات نظراً لموقعها الجغرافي الاستراتيجي ولمرور حركات الترانزيت الجوي والبحري عبر أراضيها.  وذلك بحضور معالي الدكتور راشد أحمد بن فهد وزير البيئة والمياه وعدد من الجهات الحكومية ذات الصلة في 29 أبريل 2015 في إمارة دبي. وتعتبر عملية الإتلاف هي الأولى من نوعها في دول الخليج العربي ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط والرامية الى مكافحة التجارة غير الشرعية بمنتجات الحياة البرية ومواجهة التحديات والمخاوف التي تهدد بقاء أنواع الفيلة وحمايتها من الانقراض والذي سيؤدي الى خلل في التوازن البيئي والحياة الفطرية البرية.

وتم ضبط ومصادرة هذه الكمية الضخمة من العاج بالتعاون مع جهات الجمارك في الدولة ووزارة الداخلية، وتعكس هذه المصادرات الجهود المكثفة لدولة الإمارات في مكافحة الاتجار غير المشروع بالعاج وبالأحياء البرية، وهو دليل على عدم المساومة أو التسامح بأي شكل من الأشكال على عبور هذه الشحنات عن طريق دولة الإمارات وذلك التزاما منها بالتوصيات والقرارات الدولية الصادرة عن اتفاقية تنظيم الاتجار الدولي للحيوانات المهددة بالانقراض (CITES) والتي انضمت إليها الدولة في عام 1990.

ويأتي هذا الحدث التاريخي من منطلق حرص وزارة البيئة والمياه وكافة الأجهزة بالدولة في المساهمة لمواجهة هذا الخطر البيئي وإيصال رسالة واضحة للمجتمع الدولي حول خطورة الموقف وضرورة تكاتف الجميع في دعم الجهود الرامية إلى الحد من انتشار هذه التجارة التي ستؤدي الى انقراض هذه الأنواع الحيوانية في العالم والتي ستؤثر بشكل مباشر على التنوع البيولوجي. ويأتي إتلاف العاج المصادر ليبين للمجتمع الدولي أن دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة تواجه وبكل صرامة التجارة غير المشروعة بالحياة البرية ضمن سعيها الدائم للحفاظ على الأنواع الأكثر تهديداً بالانقراض وتعزيز الاستدامة البيئية.

كشفت شركة أيسر النقاب اليوم عن الهاتف الذكي الجديد "ليكويد إم 220"Liquid M220، وهو أول هاتف ذكي من سلسلة "ليكويد"يعمل بنظام التشغيل ويندوز 8.1، الذي قال عنه إس تي ليو، رئيس مجموعة أعمال الهواتف الذكية لدى ايسر: "إنه لمن دواعي فخرنا واعتزازنا طرح أول هاتف ذكي يعمل بنظام التشغيل ويندوز 8.1، وفي الوقت نفسه يتمتع هذا الجهاز بقابلية الترقية والتحديث في المستقبل إلى نظام التشغيل ويندوز فون 10. لقد حانت اللحظة المناسبة النسبة لشركة أيسر للانضمام إلى قائمة مستخدمي نظام التشغيل ويندوز فون، وذلك بسبب تنامي شعبيته وتوافقه مع أجهزة الهواتف المحمولة وأجهزة الكمبيوتر".
